Unfortunatly points don't allways make prizes and if you spend alot of time ( like reps etc) on the road they can be a big problem.
I dont have points at the moment, but those average speed cameras get up my nose. I struggle to maintain 50 without cruise control.
By me we have the police in the usual haunts, on the boundries of speed changes, normally 40 to 30.... and if your just flowing with the traffic and not on ther ball your knackered. In most of these places does it matter whether your doing 40 or 30, No they are on main roads, with no pedestrian access , hundreds of meters away from houses.
There will be more of it aswell as income generation becomes the buzz word.
GPS I think is the way forward so long as you do the updates. All speed camera sites are public knowledge, police need to apply for some sort of licience to monitor speed at a location. Thats why they are in the same spot every time. Normally these are listed on the police website and often where they are going to be with mobile camera that day.
Radar tends to pick up automatic doors from industrial units nearby, and laser from what I understand scatters little so if you get targeted you dont have time to slow anyway.
So a GPS ( maybe with radar and LAser) I would say is the best. It will go off quite frequently as there is hundreds of mobile sites where they they could be, but thats the point. If you wait for a detector to go off you may have been caught already.
