.....Here's a hopefully easy one .....How does a GTV gearknob come off?
Thought I'd ask before breaking anything,I would'nt bother but I've got a nice Momo carbon fibre jobby out of the 155 that would look better in a car than a box of bits
I own a 2001 Spider Lusso and recently changed my gear knob. Both GTV and Spider knobs are pushed onto the gear leaver and require a little force to release them, and a lot of wiggling"
I would not recommend cutting doen the gear lever on the GTV or Spider unless you are physically short or are fitting a custom extension to the replacement knob. I am 5'10" and fitted a machined aluminium lever adapter and aliminium knob, extending the hight by 10mm which gives a much more comfortable reach.
Yeah,I cut the old one off at the weekend as no amount of pulling n'twisting would move the bugger.
Cut about 2" off the gearlever too so the MOMO knob met the gaiter without any metal showing.
Well pleased though....next job is to run the CD changer cable through the interior
