Careful with buying MAFs on eBay, especially when a good clean might do the job.
Mine went within a day of getting the car. I asked about and balked at the £150 quotes. Had a bit of a google, and I found photo instructions for cleaning.
Whipped it out, gave it a good clean and a liberal spraying with some contact cleaner and it was fixed. It lasted me another three years.
The only reason it didn't last longer was because I got the symptoms back, although no engine light and stuttering at lower revs than before. Tried cleaning and it didn't work, so I bought one from eBay for £60. It was ****, and went after a week.
Turns out that it wasn't the MAF at all and was probably the lambda. So I wasted £60 and a perfectly good MAF.
My experience would be to unplug the MAF and have a drive, see if that fixes the problem. If it does, then whip it out and give it a clean. If that doesn't work then pay the money for a reliable MAF, don't get one from eBay.
