MOT and Airbag Light
With the MOT fast approaching I went to awaken my bella from her winter slumber and ready her for the test. Only to find the battery completely dead and would no longer take the charge (it's been coming for some time). So bullet having been bitten, new battery fitted (Bosch silver £59.99 via internet), airbag light comes on (again)! Took her to my local MOT station and explained that the light had just reappeared due to the battery going flat so as to try and avoid a failure for that reason. Could he re-set it at the same time? Man says that they "don't touch airbag lights" but no problemo for the test - they'll ignore it. Phew says I!
Went to pick her up after the test (£45) to find she's failed on the rear pads! The man who's just put the new ones on (£72 all in at ATS) said the old ones were almost down to the metal and it's a wonder they hadn't scored the discs. Oh well, at least the re-test is free. The joys of classic car ownership!
