Am I being unreasonable or starting to think with my head a little?
I've had a few money issues in the past not huge and stupid more like me being young and stupid! Although luckily its not over 8k.
Thing is i'm currently saving for a mortgage and want to pay as much off as possible as i'm being to hate the debt!
Which brings me onto the GTV, i paid a fair price for it early summer this year and have spent a few bob on it. The MOT is due late April and i'm just thinking is it worth MOTing or trading in for a diesel eurobox for a while?
I currently do 40 miles a day and quite often see friends in uni and do a lot of driving over the summer (roughly 15k a year)
What i know that needs doing to the Alfa is the following;
Cambelt & Variator
Front & Rear brakes (in a few months)
Slight oil leak in engine & gear box
New thermostat and temp gage sensor
and i'm pretty certain there's going to be a bit more then that...
It's only a 2 litre on an 02 plate and a few friends say just run it into the ground and dont bother with repairs
which i couldnt bear to do. It's fine now but all these are going to need doing in the new year.
A. MOT it anyway and if it passes with few glitches just go with it
B. Part ex it for a d-d-d-d-d-diesel
or C. Repair it, Wash it, cuddle it and love it which i should be doing. Although the cost of petrol, repairs and future repairs after the MOT put this a bit out.
P.S If i can find the right Alfa diesel i'll get one, preferably a 156 2.4 10v
