Really good stuff gaffa tape..
It's christmas I'm bored so I'll tell you a story..
I was once working with another bloke and we got into a blazing row over whether it was called DUCT tape or DUCK tape.. (like you do).. Or GAFFER or GAFFA..
Anyway before it came to blows we decided to do some research (like you do)
And it goes like this..
It's called DUCK tape because it was developed by the Navy for the Normandy landings as a quick waterproof repair tape.
It's called DUCT tape because it was developed for sealing the joints on air conditioning ducting.
It's galled GAFFER tape because it is used a lot in the film industry and the head technician on a film set is called 'The GAFFER'
It's called GAFFA tape because people have heard it called GAFFER tape and mis-heard it as 'GAFFA'
And just to add to the confusion the Navy call it MASKING tape or 'MASKERS'
So take your pick...Merry Christmas!
Gettin' to old for this sh*t
