Thanks to North Lanarkshire council ploughing snow from the main road into my road, and it consequently turning to ice, I've been driving on very rough ground the last few days in order to get to work.
Car was fine this morning when i got to work, then when going home I notice the temperature gauge sitting at 110c which is 25-30c higher than normal.
Open the car bonnet when I get home and there's no coolant.
Topped up the coolant and find that it's leaking out rather quickly onto the ground. However, upon closer inspection it seems to be leaking out from behind the top right (as you are face on to the car) retainer bolt that holds the radiator in place, so I'm thinking the radiator may be salvageable? The hose seems to be bone dry, so wondering if I could have any suggestions as to what it might be? Thought maybe a failed jubilee clip or something
It's too dark and snowy to inspect it properly, but I took this pic, hopefully it'll show up ok...
Any help much appreciated. The rad is only a matter of months old
