My question: Why?
spare wheel - Heavy, makes the boot a joke, and made redundant by a can of foam.
catalytic converter - Horribly restrictive and heavy, in fact the single most restrictive part of the exhaust.
rear headrests - Rear seats are a joke anyway and having headrests for them just looks daft IMO
rear speakers - Awful quality, have next-to-no effect on the sound, and the plastic moulding they were sitting in was rattling, so that went too.
rear seatbelts - It's not like I'm ever going to have anyone in the back seat, so I see no point in having them hanging there rattling around.
undertray - Made from brittle plastic that cracked, and serves no discernible purpose.
metal airbox bracket - Installed a BMC CDA, so no need for it anymore.
sun visors - The GTV is the only car I've ever seen where lowering the sun visors actually makes the glare worse
. Removing them gives a good extra inch of visibility at the top of the windscreen. In fact, this little mod is one of the best things you can do in the GTV.
aerial and aerial motor - Old-style telescopic aerial looks hideous. Replaced with bee-sting aerial.
intake resonators - Just there to muffle one of the most sonorous engines ever made.
middle muffler - See above.
lift-up reverse mechanism - Designed with fools in mind, and getting rid of it allowed me to shorten the gearstick to achieve a satisfying short throw instead of the ridiculously long standard one, not to mention fit the gearknob I wanted.
plastic seat runner covers - What are they there for?
OEM steering wheel (replaced with OMP) - OEM steering wheel is big and ugly.
