Advice required on charging a battery

Wonder if anyone can confirm if its necessary to completely remove the battery from a 2001 Spider in order to charge it or just disconnect the cables. A few websites ive looked at have said no need to do either.

I asked a similar question a couple of weeks ago as my battery kept going flat due to alarm etc. I bought a C-Tek trickle charger and connected it. No need to disconnect the battery and just leave it in the car for months tickle charging. Seems to work fine the battery is fully charged and keeping charge over the winter.

Hope this helps. Bought the charger from Motocare Blackpool cheapest I could find.

May depend on personal circumstances too.
If the car is in a garage, then leaving it in may be ok.

I always remove mine because I can't charge it with a cable hanging out a window of my house running across the pavement!

I just leave mine connected and charge in place. I extended the leads on a battery charger so I can close the boot and leave the actual charger connected inside the house.
So easy to use every evening.
