Hood Care

I'm picking my Spider tomorrow and I'm keen to preserve the life of the hood for as long as possible. The car will always be garaged and I'm wondering whether it's best to:

1. Leave the hood up and "locked" in place or

2. Raise the hood but don't lock it.

I was thinking that this might stop it stretching. What do you people think?

If leaving the car stored, i would leave it up and locked, (there will be no stretch beyond acceptable limits). As long as you have undertaken the annual or 6 monthly clean and reseal it should be fine!
