Hi all, newbie here and need your help already.
I just aggreed to buy a 2000 GTV Spider which I have had the keys for for a few days but only just got time to go play with it.
My introduction to Alfa life has so far not been great after spending a while looking for the bonnet release cable only to find the battery wasn't there and then searching the rest of the car to try find it! Is that really the best place Alfa could think of to hide it???
Anyway, tried to start it and, even with jump leads on, there was no juice at all; no dash lights, interior lights etc. The car has been stood for about 3 months inside so the battery is flat but thought it would jump easy enough (I don't typically buy a car without even seeing it running) but as there was absolutely nothing there at all, I was wondering if there's maybe some intricate imobiliser that prevents it getting power from an external source or something equally stupid? I am planning to try tow starting it tomorrow but couln't try today as I was on my own. Got it booked in for a test on Wednesday so really need to get it started so I can find out what needs doing for its test
Anyway, please help; I'm a VW man by heart and this is my first Alfa so I have no prior knowledge of their quirks just heard of their unreliability and tempormentalness but apparantly that is less of an issue with these cars?
By the way, it has done about 120,000 miles (can't check unless I can get some power) and was running fine before it was parked up. So he says...
