steering wheel wrap

the leather on my steering wheel is looking worn. was wondering if anyone has wrapped the wheel in a grippier fabric like suede or buckskin.

The photos in this link (Autoexe buckskin steering wheel wrap installed - show how an RX8 owner has done theirs.

It's the only thing that is letting my interior down!

I'm certain the steering wheel isn't leather to begin with, think it's just plastic/rubber, shame really considering leather is everywhere else!

a member of our australian forum just had his wheel re-covered in leather, black with red stitching>

looks really good

*edit: just had a read of the mazda site.. looks pretty good, and a diy option without removing the steering wheel... only thing is i assume it has to be custom for each vehicle, and ive never seen one for a gtv?
