Just about to bring upto date the entire water cooling system on my Spider, its a P1 2.0TS 16v 150bhp model. Already have the New Radiator waiting and today bought a new thermostat and header tank. Have managed to acquire two 2nd hand fan resistors which where the cause of my current coolant problem.
New Pink anti-freeze and ionized water supplied by Haulfrauds and all rubber pipes checked and appear in good order, however!
My mechanic told me when he last had the car that the metal pipes that go from the oil filter housing with one bolted onto the engine block just behind manifold, its difficult to see unless you are below the car and shining a torch up the front of the engine block.
This pipe he said was perished and leaking and he did advise me to get them replaced or can i simply fabricate a new rubber bush and retighten it back into the block.....possibly!?
If not and they are relatively cheap i will buy but i can't find them and did a quick search on eper without success
and then found what looked like the pipes i was after but, thank god they are for the V6 and were £135 +VAT+carriage!
Does anyone know the pipes im attempting to explain and do they give problems and whats the approx ball-park figure to replace (Part Only)
