Wining noise when clutch is pressed.

When I press the clutch down there is a slight wining.
When she's in gear and out of gear (foot off clutch) no noise, just when I press the clutch.
Noise is at standstill and clutch down and slightly more pronounced while at revs.
Liquid level is fine.
It's not a major issue, just never noticed it before.
Thoughts anyone?

Clutch release bearing. Unless it was a previous owner, don't sit at traffic lights etc with the clutch in. Use neutral.

I've not looked into it, but I suspect that if/when it needs changing you may as well change the clutch plate at the same time.

release bearing on its way out, just as well fit a whole new clutch while youre at it.

I've recently experienced this thrust bearing and massive grief!

My clutch has always done the strange sounds for as long as I could remember, mine was only really at 3800 revs. I decided to leave it and fix it later but I never did.

One day about 24 months later, the noise started to get really loud - like pedestrians would stop and stare if I had the clutch in at traffic lights. It also became really difficult to engage the clutch, and impossible to pull off without massive scuttle shake. It was a pain in every sense of the word.

About three days later the clutch tried to give it's last gear change but died. In the middle of a dual carriageway. Something happened when trying to engage, and then the pedal became rock hard. I could do nothing to engage any gear and just had to wait for the recovery guy.

Took it to a cheap independent - I think it was £583 all in for a new clutch. And my god, it feels great
