Good to hear about the washers. I got onto them about the inner springpan bushes and they advised that it ok to trim them, I found them very helpful. A good company with a good product.
My steel inserts were a tight fit, had to tap them into the subframe with a mediumish hammer. As I said, never thought to measure them. I agree a tenth of a mm not enough to crack the frame, and yes, any more and I'd be worried too.
I feel that there has to be some 'float' in one of the bushes, the chances of producing cast ally subframes to within a tolerance of 0.3 mm to match the spacing of the arm pivots are not good. I don't think that the bearing faces on the subframe are machined. Also expansion/contraction in a lump of ally that big is gonna be quite a lot. did mine on a very hot day!! I guess you could make up some 0.3mm shimming washers but TBH I wouldn't bother.
I did both sides. uppers and lowers + front wishbones, everybody on here say the rear uppers don't need doing, mine were toast. falling to bits.
All my knocks gone now, Also changed my ARB droplinks, they were squeeking, And to finish off I fitted an 8mm grease nipple into the back of the outer ball joints, pumped them up with fresh grease, much better. Nice ride too, drives like a new car.
I guess strictly speaking you should do both sides. But hey if the car feels ok, after all its only a bush.
Anyway glad it all turned out ok and cheers
