Hi Fred (I knew you would be interested in the results - at last!)
Brakes have noticeably better "bite" but the big difference is the lack of fade, they just keep stopping again and again when you put them under serious pressure. Just driving to work it feels much the same as before (but I have always had a good firm pedal and higher spec pads for the last five years).Unless you go for the bigger disk upgrades I can't imagine you would see a huge difference playing around with pad compounds and new disks.
The Bilsteins are great - remembering she is lowered and was running on original shocks and wishbones after 150,000 kms the ride has always been firm but "crashy" through the sharp bumps and unsettled over corrugations. With the B6's + new wishbones & droplinks the overall feel is about the same - no big jump in ride harshness - but the ride is more "supple" over corrugations with much more control under heavy braking and hard turns. Again not a 100% change in feel but it is a much more capable and assured drive.
