Leaking Windows - common problem?

The drivers and passenger windows on my GTV leak when its raining. Living in England this isnt good as its probably going to rain from now until next March. Do i need new seals or should I take the door card off and adjust the windows. I've not done this before. The windows are definately not sealing properly as I'm also getting loads of wind noise above 50mph and at 80mph+ ( i mean 70mph) the noise is ridiculous.

I had a problem years ago on a 3.5 Rover SDI. I took of the door panel and watched the window go up and down. The water had been geetting in , the metal inside was rusty and it could not go up all the way to the top. After a lot of cleaning to remove the rust and re-greasing, it worked fine. Not sure about Alfa's, as I only had mine for 2 months, but they all work off similar principles. So, I would take a look. After all the rain that's fallen this weekend, better to get it sorted before the inside gets damp and goes mouldy. Good luck.
