help! overheating

hi all, i own a 97 spider that has recently developed an overheating problem, wen the temp goes up i get the electronic injection system warning light on the dash, i checked the water level and it was very low so filled it up and no probs for a week then it happened again low water level, iv checked the water pipes for leaks and cant find any, now i was thinking maybe the rad was leaking but the warning light on the dash i dont understand, any help would be much appreciated, thanks alot, craig.

Firstly, welcome to AO.

Have you checked the oil and is there evidence of water in there / around the filler cap?
