Rear Springs

Today whilst cleaning my car GTV 3.0 V6 i decided to crawl under it to polish the stainless steel silencer. I noticed both the rear springs were rusty and that the nearside bumpstop had dropped into the spring. Does anyone think this needs sorting immediately or is it still safe to drive on until funds allow me to uprate the rear suspension I do not get any banging, knocking or any other problems with the rear, the car drives fine and if i hadn't crawled underneath to polish the silencer then i would not even have known about it. All advice welcome.

If you go to page 12 and look at Hard ride in spider with 18 inch wheels, you will find a lot of info on suspension set up and loads of pics, hope it helps. Lynn
