Firstly, many thanks for all the advice so far from everyone!
I am breaking a '97 GTV 2.0TS.
Almost all bits are currently available - I'm currently stripping out the easily removable parts and then will be scrapping the shell in the next couple of weeks.
It's red with black leather interior and everything is in pretty good condition. No rust on the bodywork, but bonnet and front bumper have lacquer peel, so will need a respray.
It's done 83k miles.
It had a head gasket failed when we got it, but have since found some other problems (rear exhaust, driveshafts), which make it uneconomical to fix...
So, sell-able bits seem to be (from front to back):
front bumper (faded, but crack free)
bonnet (needs paint, but no rust, hinges/struts all good)
good headlights (electrically adjustable)
fog/side/indicator - SOLD
engine side-plastics good
washer bottle/pump good
wipers (with spraybars) OK
air-con pump (and all ancillaries) look good
power-steering pump (and rack) fine
water rad & twin fans OK (no leaks and fans work)
cylinder head seems in VGC internally and no signs of wear on cam lobes
Variator is under 10k miles old
all induction parts good
injectors, throttle body, hoses and MAF all good
exhaust manifold and downpipe, inc llambda good
both doors straight and no drop in hinges
electric windows both working well
nearside electric mirror (needs respray)
offside electric mirror - SOLD
all glass is good
complete electric sunroof (working)
door cards with leather inserts are in VGC
interior in full black leather - drivers seat has some wear, passenger seat OK, rear is VGC
carpets OK - light grey
seat belts VGC
dash is VGC - all clocks work, 83k on speedo
glass sunroof OK - fits/seals well
all locks work, including central locking
boot lining good
electric aerial - SOLD
rear bumper and bootlid very good
spare wheel/tyre unused
jack and tools present - SOLD
standard 16" wheels, tyres (Goodyear Eagle F1/GSD3) are virtually new
Front & rear calipers
PAS rack & pump
Rear shocks - Boge - 3k miles old
Centre console plastics
Rear light bar - VGC
Full set of coilpacks
New set of plugs (all 8) - fitted to diagnose starting problem which turned out to be head gasket...
wiper motor assembly, plus spraybar wipers
electric window mechanisms
If anyone is interested in the shell, it's solid and still has a (currently sorn'ed) V5.
