Grease/oil leaking from axle shaft

Guys please can you help with this one. I'm trying to work out where a load of grease / oil is leaking from. It's slightly green/yellow in colour although it is very black with deposits. It has collected all over the inside of the nearside front wheel. There seems to be a fair amount of it on the cv joint with rubber sleeve at the wheel side but can't tell exactly where it's coming from due to the amount of dirt and grease there. I can't see why oil would be coming from there as its just a joint. although I would expect the joint to have a limited amount of grease on it.

What is the extent of damage? Is it likely cv joint failure or seals somewhere or just a machanic being liberal with grease? The car had the front shock and spring assmebly replaced around 2 months ago.

To err is human, but you need an Alfa to really screw things up!

The road to heaven is paved with old Alfa's.

Most likely the rubber boot. Inspect this for splits or signs of sealing at the each end. They are packed with grease so a split or sealing issue will spray grease over the wheel. not an expensive job but an mot failure and will eventually lead to damaging the joint
