gtv ts ecu fryed...what are the options now??
my mates gtv has developed a little problem...
he bought the car which was mint except had a naked engine. yes snapped cambelt!!
he put a 146 ti engine in it which it was same. same engine code
car was spot on drove very well, lots of power, passed mot with no major issues...
but in traffic car overheated and radiator fan never kicked in...
everything was checked, fuses, relays, cables, thermosthat etc etc
nothing would make fan kick in
i have plugged my fiat ecu scan and i could make the fast speed fan work but not the slow speed one...no errors were stored on ecu
but while my mate was under the bonnet checking cables and relays again i think he shorted circuit the ecu and fryed it!!!
car wont start, no buzzing from fuel pump, even fiat ecu scan now wont connect to ecu like it doesnt exist...
so what are the options now??
can he just put the 146 ecu in it and swap chip from key into his and everything would be sweet again??
does the immobilizer unit need to be changed aswell and were abouts that is??
or what other option can be tryed??
no alfa dealers round here and and we dont really want to go there anyway, last time they tryed to charge me £320 for a new key for my 156 v6!!
a little help would be really apreciated
