I recently aquired a GTV V6 that has been sat for a long time and in need of some tlc. Bought on impulse as they are gorgeous cars, and I have the time and space, and the inclination to fiddle all day
From initial inspection she needs new discs and pads all round, handbrake sorting, diagnosing due to injector light being on, slave or master cylinder replacing, and cambelt replacing as only proof is previous owners word.......so a few things to do
Bought the discs and pads, slave cylinder (as I am pretty sure thats at fault) and diagnosed the light to be a lambda fault (fiatecuscan), also the cambelt kit is en route.
Going to do brakes and slave cylinder tomorrow, and look at the lambda fault, but will prob get a mech to get it out as previous experience has left me angry with lambda
Pics to follow.......
So, a car without history is a gamble, an Alfa Romeo without history is suicide, but thats just a rule of thumb
but from my inspection she has seen service, fully powerflexed, cambelt looks okay etc etc
