Might have to sell the Alfa
Need to save money for a house and a £400 MOT today has made me realise it's a bit too much of a luxury to keep. Considering insurance is £117 a month and I drive it on average once a week, it's an expensive luxury.
I live in central London and only bought it as a 30th birthday present for myself. After two years of great fun it's probably time to pass it on to someone who will actually get to use it more (or can get cheaper insurance!)
It's a 99 Phase 1, Red, V6, Black Leather. 104k. Got all the keys, upgraded stereo (with ipod connection). 18" wheels. Custom Stainless exhaust. Got Cambelt done when I bought it (7k ago?) Mechanically great. Drivers side seat has a little tear that's just opened up (a month ago) but shouldn't be too much trouble to fix. Exterior is a little more of a problem - typical lacquer peeling off in quite a few spots (bonnet, Roof, boot). Don't notice from a distance (or in the car!) but can see closer up.
Basically it's a well loved car that drives well but has typical Alfa problems (rear demister doesn't work, Sunroof only goes up, not back), but is generally quite good. Never failed me and sounds, looks and drives great.
I'm thinking of ebaying it for between £1,500-£1,700. I can see if I can post some pics of the bad things next week, but any ideas on price, or anyone interested. Hate to see it go, but can't really justify the insurance any more (especially as I don't even really need a car).
