A lot of the cheapest places dont appear on goconfusedmeerkatdotcom, adrian flux, greenlight, chris knott, a plan. Though a lot of their cheaper policies require older cars, at least 2 years NCB, limited mileage, etc
(also all the comparison sites are owned by the insurance companies, and you will find some mainstream companies (eg elephant) dont appear on some, and their sister companies "give" bigger quotes on their rivals comparisons sites.. its all cobblers as Davemackenzie says..
Some have links with owners clubs and forums, Adrian Flux allegedly offer a discount if you say you saw them on pistonheads (he did mention this on the phone, but I see no mention anywhere on my paperwork,, )
Theres something up with that AF quote above, I`m close in age and circumstances to the OP (and name,
), but with 1yr NCB, 1 SP30 and 1 claim, and they quoted about £400 or 7000 miles/yr, albeit for a twinspark.
Unless you live in somewhere like Afghanistan (or Bradford) then it must be the lack of NCB?
