Window mechanism noise/rattle

Hi guys,

Ok so the other day i put my window down and wen i tried to put it back up it made a weird noise and didn't do anything.....long story short...the tack welds failed on the gear with teeth and it came loose.

I got my uncle to weld it together and we put the entire mechanism back in the good now....except there is something loose in the door it is clanking everytime i hit a pothole....and if u tap the inside of the door it sounds like pebbles in a tincan...? where as the other door makes no confused......we tightened every nut and bolt....?

wtf is this noise? does anyone have diagram of the window mechanism?

below is a picture of where the weld failed....lucky my uncle is a welder so it wont fail again.

Could be the return spring. There should be a wide flat spring (clock spring?) i believe in the circular pivot area above those welds you've marked. It's designed to give your window motor a bit of assistance when raising the window.

They have a habit of coming out and will rattle away like a good un.

So either you lost it in the bottom of the door when you had the mech out or it's come off since you welded it all back up and is sat in that round area rattling around.
