gtv 2.0 ts is driving me mad!!!!its cursed
hi just thought id have a little rant so those of you with car troubles can count yourselves pretty lucky.Ok firstly a mounting point onb my rear subframe snapped due to a bush insert rubbing away at the alloy(not my fault i only had it a week when this happend)! so i got a replacement frame,fitted it with polybushes etc then put it on all ok so i thought.then i cracked the sump on a speedbump got a replacement and eventually fitted(hassle)but unkown to me i refitted the pick up gasket wrong yep you guessed it oil starvation!the oil pressure light came on.so after searching the net i realised my error and off came the sump again!all refitted and away i went.....er no 60 miles later the 1st conrod spun its shells(arrrgghh)days later i finaly had a replacement crank fitted with new shells etc. . .running in nice and smooth and after a few weeks the car develops an idle problem?syptoms suggested idle stepper so i replaced this...no change so i tried cleaning the MAF and SNAP broke the bloody sensor bit(by now losing the plot),anyway ordered new one off ebay fitted and wallah NO CHANGE still idles like crap.all piping etc was good no splits anywhere etc so i decided to put up with it just for now(sick of working on it)....so few days later driving along and a horribly whining starts????whats this then i said and just as i di a clunking grinding sound from the front and my steering goes..PAS pump knackered fluid everywhere thats me off the road till my new one comes from flea bay.GOT IT HAHA went to fit it but didnt realise how hard this was!off comes inlet manifold etc 2 days later!!(awkwards bolts are the back were stuck)new one on and topped up MANIFOLD BACK ON I NOTICE SPLIT RUBBER connecting hose hmmm could this be my idle problem???got replacement from scrappies gets car back together the STEERINGS PERFECT but STILL CRAP IDLE????i put up with it i say then driving along the next day thud thud thud thud the unmistakeable sound of my BIGEND AGAIN!!!!!!! wtf is with this car ??????????? this time im putting a new lump in it which has its own issues as all i can seem to find is high priced cf2s and mines cf1.QUESTION do i need to take out the gearbox too?or can i get away with just the engine????anyone selling an engine????ALSO can i point out im no mechanic and im only learning as i go so any tips or info welcome on engine removal...i know some of you will think the best thing to do is... well ... TORCH IT but thats really not an option as its my only transport WHEN IT WORKS plus by the time i get a new car and insurance deposit then probably tax cause it would be a used car (im skint now) i could by a engine and hopefully no more troubles...well sorry everyone rant over phewww so if you got car troubles, then think of me and youll see its not so bad haha ALFA,S EITHER LOVE OR HATE EM EH?
