Idle actuator stalling fix P1

Since i bought the car its had an intermitent stalling problem.

I ran the actuator test in alfa diag after which it wouldn't idle at all.

Fixing the actuator is easy on a p1 its is bolted to the top of the throttle body. Unplug it, remove the bolts, to remove the actuator (it looks like a screen wash motor).
cut the roll pin, very carefullu twist the canister to open it.

The whole centre on mine was full of carbon, spray everything with electrical contact cleaner and twist the actuator to free it.

When it free put it all back together, run the test on alfadiag (you will hear it clicking) and it should all work again.

The 3 pin cable for the P1 ECU came from yellow*_*stone cost £5 and took 3 days to get here from HK!!!!

I think it is possible to clean it without splitting it open, take off and spray cleaner inside leave to soak and spray again repeatedly but you did a proper job there, the only reason i mention that is that there are some owners on this forum that are not as adept as you and taking the unit apart would result in damage!.
I was about to do mine when in that great ALFA tradition it fixed itself (obviously waiting for the most inconvenient time in the future to go wrong again).
