Not had the car long but have so far changed all belts, plugs, variator etc etc.
I took the car out today on a good long countryside drive through some twisty roads and noticed a drone coming from, what I think is, the front left hand side wheel area. The drone is more noticeable if I am turning left and is there, but not as loud, if I am going in a straight line. BUT if I am turning right, even slightly, it stops and all I can then hear is the usual power steering pump whine
The noise only seems to be noticeable over 30mph and I can't really hear it over 70mph but I did have the roof down (and I was on private land!)
After reading endless threads on here it appears to be a wheel bearing. However I have noticed that one of the wheel arch plastic protectors, (the one shielding the wheel from the gearbox) is very loose. Could that be the culprit or am I just wishful thinking?
From the receipts with the car I can see that the front links and wishbones have all been sorted so I doubt it is related to that, and another invoice says lower arm ball joint but doesn't say which side!
Any thoughts or experience anyone can share with me??
