Spider 2002 - Key/ code Questions
I have 2002 V6 Spider. I have there keys:
One brown/ burgendy key (Matser Key)
One red key with Alfa logo stuck on that works everything (I think the car originally came new with two of these)
One red key with embossed Alfa logo (does not work the glove box)
These keys do not have buttons to work the Alarm - I have two grey fobs that work the Meta alarm/ central locking.
I would like another red key that does everything
I've read through lots of threads on alfaowner.com, so I've come to this conclusion:
Option 1 - I buy a blank from Alfa and get a local key cutter to copy one of my keys and then go through the process of getting the Code ECU to recognise th enew key, using the master key
Option 2 - Get a local auto key cutter/ Timpsons to clone one of the red keys, just had a key made for my son's Peugeot 206 and it cost £100, Timpson's qould only quote £30 through £160 over the phone, they would give exact quote when they saw it.
Option 3 - I spend loads of dosh with Alfa and let them supply a fully working key!
Quetsion 1 - Is option 1 feasible?
Question 2 - How much would Alfa charge for a blank key?
Question 3 - What is the exact procedure to manually get the Code ECU to recognise a new key?
Question 4 - Is there another way?
