V6 cambelt change - checklist help
My friendly and very good mechanic who has looked after all of my cars and done a bit of suspension work on the alfa will be changing the cambelt on my V6 in the next couple of weeks. I have copied a list of parts from RD1's thread posted by Symon below
1 cam cover gasket set. (Contains 2 gaskets and spark plug donuts)
A waterpump (metal impeller)
2 fixed cambelt tensioners
1 Cambelt moving tensioners
1 Auxillary belt
2 Fixed auxillary belt tensioners (Both different)
1 Moving auxillary belt tensioner.
Idlers were also mentioned in the original post are these listed as something else in the above list?
What do you guys rekon the above items should cost in total and is there anywhere that sells it all as one kit? I have seen shop4parts has a kit but it looks to only have 4 componants...
How long should a competant mechanic be able to do a cambelt change in? as he'll agree the rate with me before the work is carried out
Finally - thanks :-)
