if its tyres, it will vary according to road surface, my noise goes away completely on some surfaces, then with just a change in surface its back like a light switch. my rear tyres are almost dead, so 50p-ing could be a possibility, not to mention there is a slight vibration if the rear is heavily loaded. the MOT was only a couple of months ago (the noise has been there a lot longer) and no mention was made of rear bearings. I have been told Alfas are very sensitive to tyre condition and balance, due to the rose jointed rear suspension - lesser cars use rubber bushes that isolate everything
