Handbrake and gearstick replacement gaiters

Hello people,

I need a bit of advice. I've bought a set of leather replacement handbrake and gearstick gaiters from a chap on ebay for my ph2 GTV but I'm not sure how to remove the original gearstick one. I don't want to try something and end up doing more damage so please can someone tell me what to do?!

Thanking you in advance,

Read post #5 in this thread, replaced mine a few months ago and its quite easy, just take your time. Before trimming, do a trial fit to make sure the gaiters fit snug and don't bunch up.....

Photos of mine after 3 trims, only cut of a little at a time, once cut you can't put it back.....
