Hi,
My '97 GTV has failed it's MOT due to ABS light on. Looked at the forum and there seems could be a number of reasons, local garage says they've run a diagnostic and need new ECU unit - £500! ~The lights comes on intermittently and was hopeing for a failed sensor, could do with a second opinion, somewhere in London? Can anyone help!?
Cheers
Jake
I have a complete and fully-working Bosch Motronic M2.10.3 ECU I'm no longer using - if it or parts from it (I'm not sure if part of it is married to your master key) can salvage your situation PM me and we can sort something out for a lot less than £500!!
Cheers for that. Turns out the guy who did it couldn't get a reading, so no error code!? Fired it round to Clovertech this afternoon so waiting for the diagnosis! Thanks Jay, will give you a shout if replacement needed.
Cheers
Jake
The ABS units / ECUs normally outlast the rest of the car according to alfa specialists I've spoken to (even though mine has broken ) so there should be hundreds lying around in breakers that they'd be eager to shift for a lot less than 500
as above, however a jump start or another form of voltage spike can affect abs ECU's quite badly, happens on BMWs and Vauxhalls a lot.
