if you have & can use a soldering iron & sucker then have a go, it is quiet easy.
once the 3 motor connections are desoldered the motor will lift off, then you will see the 3 spring contacts covered in grease.
then you will see some screws, which when removed will allow you to take the cover off, there may be a load more grease lurking near the cogs, just waiting to move closer to those contacts !
i removed a fair amount of grease on mine, but the main reason mine played up was because of a cracked solder joint on the circuit board, which feeds the negative connection on the motor.
if you think that you have to buy a new motor anyway, you have nothing to lose if you have a go and fail.
