injection system malfunction light - on - help please

Hi, The injection system malfunction light on my (wife's) 2000 GTV 2.0 TS is now constantly illuminated. It doesn't appear to have affected anything much - except that when the engine is cold it's a little difficult to start - but once it is up to temperature it appears to run just fine. Having read various previous threads it appears this light isn't just relating to the injection system but could be any engine management problem
Since everything runs fine when up to temperature I'm thinking it can't be too serious and some threads suggest checking the MAF and the EGR. Before routing around under the bonnet - has anyone else had experience of this and do we know for sure that the GTV does in fact have an EGR?

The older ones (phase 1 / CF1 engines) had an EGR, but I doubt it's that.

What year is it? Given the cold-start issue, I'd suspect either cam sensor or coolant sensor. Your best bet is to get the fault code(s) read though, which is a DIY job if you have the kit, a favour from a local, or a garage job...

Get a diagnostic check done, as iainfm says. The system has seen a fault; diagnostics will tell you exactly what that fault is.
