Car - 2001 3.0 GTV with Bilstein/Eibach/Q2 already fitted. Have owned it for 3yrs and wanted to breath a little new life into her.
First fitted was the Weichers aluminium front strut brace and my god this simple little bar makes a surprising amount of difference...
Not pushed her too hard but it has made the steering feel alot more positive and secure and it doesnt have so much of that steering loading up after just a few degrees of lock. The car rolls less too... there is hardly any now, even when taking tighter corners at higher than normal speed. General stability when accelerating and braking is also improved...just less of the car wanting to take its own course on rough and uneven surfaces.
Overall - £100! Possibly the single best mod ive done and at this price?
Second is the BMC CDA. I will be honest i didnt want or expect to acheive any extra BHP from this, i did it purely for the sound and to make the engine rev a bit more freely when heel and toeing. Well it didnt make much difference to the sound when cruising but when the car was upto temp, the dual carriageway appeared and the gearbox is in second
Noise is sooooo good when giving it some beans it easily makes it worth the £180 why did i wait three years to fit this thing?!?! Does it have 1 or 2 extra bhp? Who cares!!?
Overall - £180... well its all about the noise but i guess it does rev a little more freely which can only be a good thing...again very happy
