I have just collected my car (spider TS 2 L 1997) back after the following:
engine oil change to 10w40 full synt
spark plug change
oil filter change
change the whole variator, belt etc...
Gear box oil change to 75
Basically I had a typical diesel sound, and tappet sound under acceleration so of course variator plus oil was the first thought.
I had the hydraulic clean up at the same time.
When the mechanic open up the engine they discover the inlet cam shaft eaten up on two part, so much so that the part that is suppose to be oval was round.
I ve got change of course.
After all that I have collected my car today, well the diesel sound is lighter, but other than that I still have the tappet sound under acceleration below 3500 rpm.
I am not sure what think anymore, so I am hoping to get some smart input from you guys.
I am feeling a bit down, feel like I bought a lemon that will cost me a bomb to fix.
