it is a hell of a lot of car for the money. The previous owner spent a fair bit on it, so it still has a full and extremely impressive history of receipts. Having said that it did "develop" a nasty banging at slow speeds within the first hour. I'm, erm, sure that the previous owner was not aware of this
to be fair I didn't hear anything on the test drive, and with my luck with cars at the minute it could have just been timing
The most worrying thing was when I took it to Gus at Alfatune so he could diagnose the banging, and, after a look underneath he said to be more worried about the totally corroded inner brake discs (the bit you can see looked fine)
anyway, all sorted now thanks to Gus. The banging was a loose wheel
after getting it back to the north west from Norwich that was something I didn't want to hear.
It's running fantastically now, looking and sounding as beautiful as ever (which is more than I can say for my poorly 159!!)
fuel isn't an issue as it's a second car, so 4-5k miles a year, and with insurance on a classic limited mileage policy I hope to be able to afford to run it for a good while yet.
