Puff of blue smoke?

Well, apparently. I drove off earlier rather enthusiastically and was later told that when i shifted from 1st to 2nd a small puff of blue smoke came out the tail pipe. i did change at 6.5k and straight back on the throttle in 2nd. Is this normal as the car only has 53K on the clock with F/S/H, just passed with seriously low emissions on the MOT last month and never uses any oil? But on the oil subject, it is high at about half an inch past the max mark on the dipstick (I know i know im waiting to get it serviced) could this cause the puff?

more than likely yes. i made this mistake a few years back in my twinny, having too much oil in it. it wasnt fun having the bottom end let go on me on the motorway and then and then subsequently rebuilding it

although the V6s are stronger it isnt going to be healthy for it. if i were you i would drop some oil out of your engine as soon as you can before it does some damage
