Cracked Windscreen - Safe to Drive
All, went to the office for the 1st time in ages today. Came out at lunch and some scousers from the office were looking at the motor. With them bing of scouse origin I was sceptical :-) but they were only admiring the motor and gave some great remarks. One of them pointed out a large crack (9" long) on the passengers side of the windscreen. I promptly went home and checked the insurance, which is covered except for the excess. So I called AutoGlass and arranged an appointment, the earliest of which is Sunday am. I asked if it was safe to drive and they asked if the crack had gone right through, which it hasn't, so they said yea it is OK to drive as it is lamenated. Now my question is, is it really safe to drive? I have a night out in Manc on Saturday and need to drive the motor as the GF is away but I am a little concerned driving, can you put my mind at ease?
