Veloce, i would be interested to know how long it took you to do the belt change as i am about to do my V6 in the next couple of weeks i am doing the belt, tesioner and idle pulleys also the water pump too, Have you found any good step by step articles that cover the v6 belt change, i have just purchase the belt tensioner tool and the camshaft locking tools for this job so any advice would be helpful.
For me this was a headgasket job initially, but I did change the belts and waterpump as well.
It's been very on-off work, so I can't say exactly how long it's taken me, but I do know it's best to take your time when doing this.
Be very careful when unscrewing the waterpump, I sheared 6 out of 12 bolts. Meaning the whole engine had to come out...
You do need a TDC-indicator in addition to the tools you've listed. The tool for removing the camshaft pulleys will also be very useful, unless you want to spend an hour manhandling them out like I did.
As for step by step articles, I did this job according to the Alfa repair manual. It should be available for download somewhere? The alfaworkshop-page is useful, but doesn't go in any detail. It does tell you the sequence of things though, so it's useful as a checklist.
I've taken pics through the whole process and I'll post up a crapload of pics soon(ish), you can check that out for guidance.
