Swapped Ciggie lighter, now Radio has died..err..
Installed a nice new Sony Bluetooth CD head unit into my '96 GTV at the weekend, the finishing touch (almost) on a car I've had for around a month. Works perfect.
Being a tart, I ordered up a nice Nero leather gear knob and chrome ciggie lighter, just to finish off.
Now, this evening, I sat in the car, popped the new ciggie lighter in. It didn't fit, too small. Then the Radio kept powering off and on, aerial up\down. Removed radio, checked connections, same thing. One time I managed to press source and get onto CD and all ok. As soon as I selected tuner, the unit kept power cycling again.
Currently the Radio is dead. I've tried to measure voltage on the power leads and only seem to get .5 of a volt. I've checked the Horn fuse (checked the radio fuse location in the owners manual, that's ok. One thing I did notice is that the pin from the aerial lead seems to have come off the lead and is connected in the radio. But I don't think that'll have anything to do with it? But...its all dead now....
Any help as to what I can check next?
I don't even smoke....lol....
