I have recently invested a lot of money in a very sophisticated 4 wheel alignment machine, our machine is absolutely state of the are and I am doing most of the alignments are the moment to try and fully get used to the equipment.
To do the job properly the car needs to be set up correctly on the machine and this takes about an hour, there are short cuts but if you do that you are not going to get the car aligned properly, our machine for example takes in to consideration any run out in the wheels so you get a true and correct measurement.
No one would do a correct alignment for £25
As everyone knows on here we only do Alfa and I have been amazed how far out all the cars have been that I have put on there. The Brera and 159’s have rear camber adjust which most places would have no idea how to set up.
It is essential to do a full alignment after any major suspension component has been changed and we always advise to have one done after we have Poweflexed the rear of a 916 GTV. Again most places don’t know how to do the rear of a GTV let alone have any interest in getting them just right.
There is a bit more information on our web site about the equipment we have installed, I have to say the information on our site is very limited at the moment but I am planning on updating it soon
For anyone wishing to get there Alfa set up correctly we are looking at £60 + VAT to set the car up and give a detailed read out of how the car is currently set up. From then on we charge our hourly rate (£55 per hour inc VAT) for as long as it takes. If you want it about right and there are no problem bolts this will take about 20 minuets, if however you want the car set up to have certain characteristics or try different settings and road-test the car in between then we can do this as well. I will go through exactly what we are doing with you while I am doing the alignment and I will explain exactly how your car is set up and how it can be improved.
