GTV seat removal

First of all, are the seats electrically operated or manual.
The removal process isn't that complicated BUT, what you must do first is disconnect the battery and wait at least ten minutes before proceeding. This is important for Both electric and manual seats. This is because the pre-tensioning device is in the receiving end of the seat belt clip. Also the recommendation for electric seats is to disconnect the air bag activation device.
Once you are at this stage then with the seat fully forward release the two bolts (unscrew) on the rails upon which the seat sit. Then put the seat fully backward and release the front bolts on the rails. Now carefully remove the seat belt fastening from the side of the seat. Be very careful and respectful of this piece as you must remember that this device is designed to release a small explosive charge to tension the belts in the event of an accident.
If in doubt do not attempt this work as after you have effected the repair you must be able to confidently re-assemble all these components.
Hope this sort of helps and doesn't sound too scarey. Best of luck

Disconnect the air bag ECU first! Otherwise you can end up with:
1. Error codes on the ECU = mandatory MOT failure = expensive.
2. Air bag going off = embarrassing = painful and avoidable!
