Hi Gals and Guys.
I've been a bit of a lurker on this thread for a while and finally plucked up the courage to ask for some help, sad i know!
Anyway, i recently plucked up the courage to buy a spider and settled for a phase 1. its a 1995 and i see it was imported. to cut a long story short, i drove it about 150 miles on my trip home and everything was ok performance wise. no over heating as i have suffered that fate once before and know to check the temp gauge.
basically i pulled over and let the car cool down, some kind soul offered me some water as it all bubbled out of the expansion tank.
i managed to get home and topped it up again. the following morning the water was still in the expansion tank. As the engine was stone cold, i left it on idle to warm up to see if the fan kicked in. It did, just after the midway mark so maybe 93 degrees. it only came on for a few seconds but it did and maintained a constant temperature range of 90ish to 93 for about 20 mins however when i took it for a drive it over heated again. It has had a brand new radiator already, has anyone else had a similar problem or have any ideas ?
I should say that none of the usual symptoms of a head gasket problem seem to be there ie oil in the water, mayonnaise like deposit in the oil cap steam or water from the exhaust.
thanks for the help
