Hmmm Weird oil levels

This is weird.....

I checked my oil yesterday after a one hour drive through nightmare london traffic because i had just replaced the coolant and thought i should check all the levels etc.

The oil was just below the bottom indicator on the dipstick so i thought i may as well order some decent oil online and then get Autolusso to do a change sometime next week when i have time.

I just went out to the car now, having not driven it anywhere today and checked the oil, its between the top and bottom indicators now

I know what you are thinking, i was a dipstick with the dipstick yesterday but i really wasnt because i thought i may have made a mistake and was a bit OCD about checking it thoroughly.

Any ideas? Self healing alfa strikes again?

The oil takes time to settle in the bottom of the sump after you've driven it. Thats why it would have been at different levels. You should aim to keep it on the top mark all the time as low oil on these engines leads to lots of expensive problems! Check in the morning before you drive it and do it on a flat surface as slight inclines will affect the apparent level
