Bit of a trip

Got back last night from a little jaunt down to Cornwall for a few days. 800+ miles in total, and have to say a very pleasant trip

GTV behaved itself, and I didn't really feel any more fatigued than when I have been in a bigger car (bit of a tradition at this time of year for me, for the past 12 years or so)
Last couple of times I have taken my GT and then a Golf (zzzzzz..) and admit I was a bit wary of taking the GTV, but what a blast! Even managed to get all the luggage squeezed (literally) in to the boot.
Have done the trip a few times in a classic mini which was fun, but very tiring, and this time it was fun (great roads down there) but without the aching back when I got out of the car

Only downside was the cost of petrol!!! and the fact that I was ignored by every Alfa that I passed and waved at. (mini zulu kept asking me why no one was waving back )

No sorry, Cornwall's full. No room for any more until next year – or maybe the year after.

Incidentally, I have the reverse journey to do on Tuesday, heading up to the photo studio in Sevenoaks, Kent, and back again in the day. Looking forward to it as it will be my first long trip in the GTV. Did several such 'day trips' (500+ miles) in my 156 (RIP).

I am still amazed at the number of Alfas I see on the roads down here but, I agree, not many wave back...

GTV 3.0 V6

I'm off down to Cornwall next weekend. Borrowed my Dad's Volvo last time I did it but decided I'm taking the GTV this time. Much to my bank managers amusement no doubt as a combination of the petrol prices there and the likely mpg I'll be getting, it's not gonna be cheap!!

I have just got back from a trip to Norfolk, 412 miles from full to fuel light coming on, not bad for a V6....

Going on a whistle stop camping trip to Scotland at the weekend, heading from preston and aiming to get to John O'Groats via Stirling and Aviemore and work our way back down the west coast. She's getting a service this week in preparation and I am well looking forward to it.
