Drying out the carpet - botch job?
I've just gone through the pain of diagnosing the soggy passenger footwell syndrome (a scuttle drain full of compost and that ridiculously small "lip" around the fan intake were to blame!) however now have a swimming pool which I would like to get rid of.
I've been planning to attack it this weekend with a full seats, centre console, carpet and lining out job however thought maybe I could just pull out the passenger seat and sill trim on that side so i can get the carpet lifted enough to pull out the sound deadening material to get it dry?
Does anyone with experience of removing the carpet on the gtv think this is possible or should I just allocate all of tomorrow to doing the whole lot? The water is only in the low point at the front of the passenger footwell so I think my botch job would work for getting it dry its just a question of if it is possible.
