Clutch Pedal Nightmare!
I've put off travelling to Europe in the old Spider (96, 2L T-spark) for years because it's little suprises and strange ways, however this week I popped down to northen France to do a weeks work after getting a fresh MOT (which included a whole handbrake and back brake overhaul). However, On the way back I had an intermittent clutch pedal. (Imagine the scene), flying towards the toll gate northbound to Calais, press the clutch and it hits the floor with no affect. I sat on the side of the road trying to get RAC help (not much), when it decided to try and work and gets me to the Chunnel. Then thoughout my journal to the west of England (Bristol Area), I sometimes have a clutch pedal and sometimes not.
Obviously it's a hydrolic issue but I'd like to narrow it down before taking it to the local non-alfa garage. I've heard stories on here about about the slave cylinder, what do you think?
I love my spider but if she's going to start playing up on me then she's a gonna (had her 5 years and spent over £5000 on repairs but that did include a full engine rebuild). One more thing, she drank almost a full top up of oil over 700 miles ( I was pushing it a bit) on this trip.
BTW, Bl**dy beautiful Red Brera Spider in the GL12 area, thanks for the wave.
